This Lesson

Make a pattern development of a cube.
MapCube
Name graphic "mapcube".
Use mapping software to place a map of your location on the cube. Then search for a map of your state, US regions, and a world map. Students capture and paste their Color Code on the fifth surface. Any appropriate image may be used on the final side.

STANDARDS
Duration: 135 minutes
Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology-enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other creative works (in the form of a 3D pattern development). (Iste 3)
Students use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences (through illustrating ways to communicate geography). (Iste 4)
Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources (by sellecting different types of maps). (Iste 5)
